Pan Fried Potatoes (Batate Phodi)

Here's the easiest way you can make batete phodi. 

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cups semolina 
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • 1 big potato

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 2


Preparation Method:
1. Peel potatoes, slice them. 

2. Add salt to them, toss them, keep them aside for 5 minutes for them to take in salt.
3. In a bowl add semolina, salt, all the powders, mix well.

4. Coat potato slices with semolina mixture on both sides, keep them on a hot pan. 
5. Add oil on top of the slices, cover them, cook them closed for a minute on high flame. Put off the flame. Leave it closed for a minute.
6. Flip the slices, add oil if required.
7. Cook closed for another minute on high flame. Put off the flame. Leave it closed for a minute.
8. Enjoy
