Nutritious Age Old Snack - Cooked Jackfruit Seeds (Sijel Bikand)

Jackfruit seeds are packed with nutrition & they'd be pressure cooked to eat as a snack for evening tea, would be a great all time snack. 

The trick is to use fresh jackfruit seeds, once they dry out, they tend to get hard, take more time to cook. 

They're also cooked & used in coconut curries like kodels, gashi's, they're used in sukke's, they're made into upakari etc.

Raw jackfruit seeds (Bikand): When you buy jackfruit, remove their outer peel (watch video above), wash the jackfruit seeds and air dry them to use later. 
Store them in an open container to prevent fungus from growing on them.

Cooked jackfruit seeds: Pressure cook jackfruit seeds with salt & water (watch video above), peel them and enjoy! They are absolutely amazing to eat! :-)
