Gulla / Mattu Gulla/ Udupi Gulla/ ಗುಳ್ಳ . Not just any usual Brinjal, it's GI ( geographic index) tagged brinjal. The history of Mattu Gulla can be traced back to the Mattu village in Udupi, where it has been grown for centuries. Locals believe that the seeds were initially offered by Saint Vadiraja Swami, who blessed the region with this unique vegetable.
