Simplest, flavourful banana side you can make super quick & easy. Quick, easy to make, few ingredients, few minutes & enjoy!!
These work best if you have to feed someone who doesn't really like raw bananas. My recipe below for you, something I came up with. You're welcome. :-)
Ingredients:
1 Raw banana
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon hing powder
1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Serves: 2, enjoy alone if you don't feel like sharing
Prep Time: 2-3 minutes
Cooking time: 4-5 minutes
Preparation Method:
1. Peel raw banana, peel off only the outer tough fibre, keep a little bit of the inner peel on to get a nice bite with every mouthful of cooked soft banana.
2. Slice in any of the 3 ways - vertical, horizontal, slant to get thin to thick sizes. Take a look here.
3. Thickness of slice is your choice, if you make them thin they might get little crisp, if they're thick they'll be soft & nice, if they're too thick they might require extra cooking.
4. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida powder to the slices, mix well, let them sit for 2 minutes.
5. Heat up a tawa, lay down the slices next to each other on the hot tawa.
6. Cook the slices on one side on high flame by drizzling coconut oil on top of each slice.
7. Cook them closed with a lid on for a minute, put off the flame.
8. Keep it closed with the lid on for another minute while which slices cook in the steam.
9. Open the lid, flip them on another side to cook them on another side.
10. Cook them closed on high flame again for another minute. Add oil if required on top of each slice.
11. Put off the flame, keep it closed for another minute.
12. Soon after remove the slices from the tawa. If you leave it any longer on the tawa it starts to become dry.
13. Enjoy while hot, as they cool down they become very slightly hard & lose the softness they have while they're still hot.
For my kid & me I make these salted banana slices too.
