Sweet made from colostrum milk is called posu in Konkani. Colostrum milk is the milk obtained from cows in the first few days after giving birth to a calf.
A very traditional dessert, snack from my granny's kitchen.
After a calf is born, there's excess milk that's produced the first few days. If not milked it hurts the cow & can be hard on the cow. So, it's udder is fully emptied & the milk is distributed among neighbours. It splits on cooking so it's used to make desserts called as posu. Here's one posu recipe that's very commonly made in GSB Konkani homes from ages.
