Homemade Fresh Tomato Salsa

Homemade Fresh Tomato Salsa

"Why make homemade salsa when you can just grab a jar of salsa from your nearby store??" you ask. I like healthy stuff and try to avoid preservatives and colouring agents as much as possible. And when you can use fresh ingredients and prepare a yummy salsa at home in minutes then why not do that for a healthy you and to keep your family healthy. This recipe is so easy-to-do that you can prepare it in five minutes, just before the big game on a game night. Next time enjoy your nachos with this fresh salsa.

Ingredients:

½ cup chopped tomato
½ cup chopped onion
½ teaspoon red chilli flakes/powder or freshly ground pepper
1 finely chopped green chilli
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh coriander
Salt to taste
2-3 tablespoons of tomato ketchup

Preparation Method:

1. Add all the ingredients into a blender except lemon juice and blend to form a paste.

2. Transfer into a serving bowl, add lemon juice on top and mix well.

3. Serve with nachos and enjoy.

P.S: If you like your salsa chunky then do not make a fine paste when you blend.

I also add a few pieces of freshly chopped tomatoes and onions in the end to the ground salsa and mix well. That way when you bite into nachos with salsa, along with the crunchiness of the nachos and the sweet, spicy, tangy salsa you also get a nice bite and few chunks of tomatoes and onions.

Blend the ingedients into a smooth paste if you don't like your salsa chunky.
