Mint Coriander Juice (Detox juice)

Mint Coriander Juice (Detox juice)

Coriander Mint Juice (Detox Juice)

Stress, oily foods, greasy foods, smoke, air pollution give rise to free radicals in our body. These free radicals cause cell damage and bring about aging in us. Toxins are poisonous substances that we inhale or ingest and the removal of these toxins from our body is called detoxification.

Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that capture these free radicals in our body and thus prevent the damage caused by these free radicals. Vegetable and fruit juices also flush out toxins from our body and purify our blood. Bottom line, fruit and vegetable juices are great for you and your skin!

Mint coriander juice has a great detoxifying property, it purifies our blood, detoxifies and cleanses our system. When mint coriander juice is had in the morning on an empty stomach it removes accumulated toxins from our body. Drink one glass of juice everyday and have a healthy glowing skin and a healthy body too.

Mint coriander juice and beetroot, carrot, tomato juice are used to detox, they also help in weight loss and help curb constipation.

Here goes a recipe for natural detoxification, a great beauty and detox drink - the mint coriander juice:

Ingredients for this detox drink:

  • 1/2 bunch of mint leaves
  • 1/2 bunch of coriander leaves
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Rock salt to taste
  • 1 cup of drinking water

Serves: 1

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Method of preparation:

1. Wash and blend in the coriander and mint leaves using 1/2 cup of water. Blend in until you get a smooth juice.

2. Add rock salt, lemon juice and mix well.

3. Add more water if required to dilute.

4. Garnish with a tomato wedge and serve.

5. Drink this juice without straining or else you lose all the good fibres.

6. Drink the juice within 15 minutes of preparation or else it gets oxidised and you lose all the goodness of the juice.

7. Do not eat or drink anything for the next 30 minutes after drinking this juice.

P.S: Use only organically grown coriander and mint leaves in your detox juice. Organic veggies are grown without chemical fertilisers and synthetic insecticides. If your not using organic coriander and mint in your detox juice you may be adding more chemicals, toxins to your body rather than getting toxins out of your system.

My hubby is not a fitness freak like me as he is in shape. So, anything that goes into his mouth is solely based on taste. So, I modified the above recipe for him, so that he gets all the good stuff and it tastes good enough for him to drink it too. Guys like him won't find it difficult to drink this juice with the following recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 bunch of mint leaves
  • 1/2 bunch of coriander leaves
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Rock salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chat masala
  • 1 teaspoon mango powder
  • 1 cup chilled water
  • Few ice cubes

Blend in all the ingredients using chilled water, add ice cubes and serve chilled immediately.

Instead of chat masala and mango powder you can also add sugar if you like your juices sweet. Add sugar according to your taste and you'll make an awesome, refreshing, chilled drink that energises called as pudina lime.

Rock salt is used as it has more minerals than normal salt.

Lemon juice adds in taste and vitamin C. Lemon also prevents the discolouration of the juice, it helps retain the original colour of the juice.

Equipment suggestion:

The best juicer in the market and my favourite equipment in the kitchen is this juicer. It can help you make wonders while cooking. With it you can get a juice ready in 30 seconds, you can powder even a teaspoon of spices with it and you can also store them all with a lid on in the fridge or outside. This mixer is an absolute delight to own and use in the kitchen. I've had it for 5 years now! This juicer also makes sure you don't lose out on any of the fibres.

If you hate chopping and can shell out some money then this chic juicer is perfect for you.

Do try out the recipe and let me know how delicious it turned out, how you liked it. You could even connect with me on Twitter, by doing so you could tweet any queries, suggestions you have about any of the recipes and I would be glad to help you sort things out!
