Soya Nuggets

Healthy and nutritious nuggets, full of protein and energy. Soya nuggets are so easy to prepare and takes just 20 minutes.

And look at the benefits. Soya is high in protein and a substitute for meat for vegetarians. So you can make these healthy, yummy, homemade nuggets, without any preservatives. To make these nuggets even more healthier use gram flour for binding instead of potatoes. You can save lots of calories. :-)

Ingredients:

1 cup of soya chunks
3 medium sized potatoes
1 medium onion chopped
1 tablespoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon roasted cumin
1 tea spoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon mustard sauce
1 tablespoon barbeque sauce
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup bread crumbs or rava
1 table spoon of oil
Salt to taste

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Preparation Method:

Soak soya chunks in boiling water and keep closed with a lid for 20-30 minutes. Ensure the chunks are soaked well and absorbs water by stirring once in 10 minutes.

Drain, squeeze out water from the soya chunks and mince in a mixie.

Peel, cook potatoes until they are soft. Then smash them well.

Mix the smashed potatoes and minced soya chunks in a bowl.

Add the chopped onions, mustard sauce, barbeque sauce, turmeric, red chilli powder, roasted cumin, garam masala, cumin powder and mix well.

Roll them into cylinders, barrel shaped nuggets or any shape you like.

Dip the nuggets in milk and roll over the bread crumbs. Use low fat milk to save few more calories.

Fry the nuggets fully coated with bread crumbs on a frying pan using oil until they get golden brown on both sides.

Serve hot with pudina chutney, ketchup.
